Clinical Approaches in Bipolar Disorders is published by Cambridge Medical Publications (CMP) with the support of an unrestricted educational grant from AstraZeneca. It is a requirement of publication that the copyright of all materials submitted is transferred to CMP. This does not affect the authors’ right to use any part of their material in other work authored by them provided that full credit is given to Clinical Approaches in Bipolar Disorders. It is the responsibility of authors to ensure that copyright is cleared on all materials submitted (e.g. photographs and illustrations) for publication throughout the world using any medium of communication, although assistance will be provided if required. Contributions should be original, not have been published elsewhere, and not be under consideration by or in press with another publication.

Title page
The title should be concise and informative. Provide the initials and surnames of each author, together with the full name and address of the institution to which they are affiliated.

Summary
Please provide a summary of not more than 150 words.

Key Words
Please provide up to eight key words that will help bibliographic databases cross-reference your article effectively.

Headings
For clarity, it is suggested that you should try to ensure that your article has no more than two levels of sub-heading.

Drug Names
The World Health Organization International Non-Proprietary name for drugs should be used. This may be followed by the proprietary name in parentheses at the first mention only.

Abbreviations
Abbreviate scientific units according to SI criteria. Ensure that all other abbreviations are also given in full at their first mention.

Illustrations
Clinical Approaches in Bipolar Disorders is a full-colour publication. Hence, illustrations (figures and photographs) are especially welcome, particularly colour ones for print and ones that might enhance the online version, and improve the overall clarity and presentation of the concepts and ideas under discussion. They should be supplied electronically by e-mail or on disk separately from the main text. Please also send the original by mail (slide or print) since this may be needed if the resolution of the electronically supplied version is too low for high-quality print reproduction and will be returned to you once no longer required. Each should be clearly labelled and supplied with a legend and keys as appropriate. Please consider whether information contained in a table could be presented more effectively as a graph.

References
References should be supplied in Vancouver style, and cited numerically in the text according to their first appearance. They should be listed in the same order in the References section, including up to six authors’ names and using journal abbreviations as listed in INDEX MEDICUS, e.g.
